Cape Girardeau natives participating in “March for Life” Friday

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KFVS) - The 46th Annual March for Life Rally is taking place on Friday, Jan. 18 in Washington, D.C.

According to Missouri Senator Josh Hawley’s office a group of nearly 3,000 Missourians are participating in the anti-abortion event.

Those participating in the rally are of all ages and come from all over the state including Cape Girardeau, Jefferson City, Kansas City, Sedalia, and St. Louis.

The March for Life Rally is held on the National Mall. This year’s rally begins at 11 a.m.

Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen Pence, made a surprise appearance at the rally.

Both spoke to the large audience.

Vice President Pence will later speak at the Rose Dinner, which follows the March for Life Rally.

The theme for this year’s rally is “Unique for Day One: Pro-Life is Pro-Science..”

Organizers with the pro-life group say the mission of the march is to end abortion, educate, and bring pro-life people together.
