Man arrested in connection with De Soto, MO homicide

DE SOTO, MO (KFVS) - A man was arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in De Soto, Missouri.

Andrew J. Britton, 22, was arrested for first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Deputies say he was identified after they received information he allegedly told someone else that he had hurt someone.

Britton was found on Wednesday evening, Jan. 16 in De Soto. He was taken into custody and interviewed.

On Jan. 17, deputies got a warrant for Britton charging him with murder and armed criminal action.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported on January 14 the Major Case Squad of Great St. Louis was activated to assist in the homicide investigation.

On Friday, Jan. 11, around 7:16 p.m. deputies responded to the 100 block of West Lakeview Dr. in De Soto, Mo. for a report of a deceased man.

The victim is identified as 61-year-old Randy L. Sitze.

He was found in the basement of the residence according to officials. They said he had obvious signs of injury.
