Man dies after crash involving ambulance in Paducah, KY

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A man has died from injuries sustained in a crash involving an ambulance in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday, January 12.

According to police, Kyle Young, 38, died Tuesday at an area hospital.

The crash happened at 7:53 p.m. at Jackson and South 28th Streets.

An ambulance from Murray, Ky. was running with lights and sirens on to clear the intersection at a red light.

The 76-year-old driver from Paducah of a Chevrolet Malibu had a green light, and the driver told police that he did not see or hear the ambulance at the intersection.

The driver and three passengers were taken to an area hospital for treatment. One of the passengers, a 71-year-old woman, was later flown to Nashville for further treatment.

No one in the ambulance was hurt, according to police.

The Paducah Police Department Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
