Governor-elect Pritzker and Lt. Governor-elect Stratton participate in statewide day of service

Pritzker, Stratton tour Illinois ahead of inauguration

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - The Illinois Governor-elect and Lt. Governor-elect got their hand dirty during the statewide day of service on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Gov.-elect JB Pritzker and Lt. Gov.-elect Juliana Stratton took part with the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale, Ill. and worked to clean up the even paint the gymnasium.

Stratton says this is a way to give back to the people of Illinois.

“People are from a number of different counties here, painting and getting the building up to speed for all of the young people that have served here and it’s just a way to give back to the people of our state," said Stratton. "It’s great to be able to help out an organization with such a really positive impact in the community.”

Stratton and Pritzker’s day of service ended in Rockford, Aurora, and then Chicago.

Their swearing-in will be on Monday, Jan. 14.
