CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Good Friday Evening Heartland. We are in the middle of a very messy forecast for this evening through Saturday. We are seeing a mixture of rain sleet and snow across the Heartland.
Our northern counties will see more snow while our southern counties will see more rain. So, there will be a wide range of snowfall amounts from very little south of Cape Girardeau and Paducah to over eight inches north of Farmington and Mt Vernon. Travel will be difficult at times in our northern counties. This is the reason we are continuing with the First Alert Action Day through Tomorrow as parts of our viewing area will be impacted with significant snowfall. Temperatures will start off tonight at or below freezing and warm through the overnight hours. Morning temperatures will range from near freezing north to the middle 30s south.
Saturday will be cloudy and cold with rain likely. Rain will mix with snow at times north. We will likely see light snow developing again in our northern counties towards the evening hours. Highs will reach the middle 30s north to lower 40s far south.
