Winter Warnings and Advisories are all down this evening but our super-dreary weather will continue through the day Sunday as a large weather system slowly spins over the region. Rain this evening should gradually taper off after sunset….though it will likely remain cold and damp with some fog and drizzle or sprinkles overnight. Most of the region should stay at or just above freezing overnight…but by daybreak our northwest counties could get a little icy as temps drop to just below freezing. On Sunday the backside of our storm blows some colder air back in from the northwest…and there’s a good chance of some light mixed precip again…..and maybe even enough light snow showers to create some slick spots at times. At this point no official advisories are in effect for Sunday.
The upcoming work week features mainly dry conditions and a gradual warming trend….especially by a about midweek. Highs look to be back in the 50s by late in the week. However….some of our models are showing a sharp cold front with a chance of rain changing to snow Friday night into early Saturday of next weekend…so that looks like our next weather system to watch.
