CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Children’s Arts Festival at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will hold its 19th Annual exhibit starting Friday, Feb. 1.
The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Arts Council building, located at 16B North Spanish Street in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The display will be on exhibit until Saturday, Feb. 23.
The exhibit will showcase works, including visual pieces of part and poetry, by children from 32 regional schools.
Started in 2000, the Children’s Arts Festival began as a way for local art teachers and their students to showcase what they have been doing in the classroom.
The show juried and the top eight entries from each grade (from Third-grade to Eighth-grade) are featured in a published booklet distributed at the event.
Cookies, milk and juice boxes will be provided for guests, courtesty of Chick-fil-A and McDonald’s, respectively.
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
