CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - If road conditions are bad and you don’t feel comfortable driving out to your local blood drive location, the Red Cross says don’t risk it.

Make sure to check road conditions before you head out.

Julian Watkins with the American Red Cross said they always have a blood drive going on so if you miss this one there is always another.

Watkins said his time of year they really need blood donations but with the forecast this weekend, he wants donors to put safety first.

“Use your best judgement when getting out there we have other blood drives that will be available in the coming weeks. If you go to redcross.org and type in your zip code you should be able to find a drive to donate,” said Watkins.

If you are giving blood isn’t your thing, you can always give by donating money at redcross.org.
