IL woman sentenced to prison after taking checks from parked vehicle
Officials said she will serve a two year period of mandatory supervised release.

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A woman from Vienna, Illinois has been sentenced to six years in prison.

According to the Union County Office of the State’s Attorney, Whitney L. Patton who is also known as Whitney L. Martin has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one count of continuing financial crimes enterprise, a class 1 felony.

Officials said she will serve a two year period of mandatory supervised release.

Patton was arrested in October of 2018 after Anna police officers investigated an incident involving her.

They said Patton took personal checks from a vehicle parked in Anna in August 2018 and used checks at various Southern Illinois business.
