SPRINGFIELD, IL (KFVS) - In his final clemency review, Governor Bruce Rauner granted 30 clemency requests and four commutations on Friday, January 11.
He denied 268 requests.
According to the Office of Gov. Rauner, the backlog from previous administrations has been cleared and there are currently no pending clemency petitions in the Office. Each person granted clemency underwent a criminal background check through the Illinois State Police Law Enforcement Agencies Data System.
A granted clemency request for a pardon with expungement allows the petitioner to seek expungement of their conviction through the court system.
