All eyes on our winter weather system that will be approaching our western counties mid morning and impact much of the Heartland later this afternoon and evening. A chilly start with temperatures ranging from the teens in the north to the low 30s in the south where come clouds are moving in. There may be some light frost outside.
Clouds will be increasing through the day. Precipitation chances look to arrive before noon. This will be a mixture of rain/snow. Possible sleet and freezing rain can occur to start this winter event off. Higher snow chances are likely in northern counties and mostly rain in our southern counties. A winter storm warning is in place for the northern half of the Heartland and a winter weather advisory for some central counties. We will talk more about amount this morning! This event will impact travel through Saturday noon.
