Crews battling house fire in Du Quoin

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) - Fire crews were called to the scene of a house fire in Du Quoin, Illinois on Thursday evening, January 10.

According to police, the 20th block of North Mulberry Street was shut down as crews tried to put out the fire at the vacant home.

According to the Fire Chief they received a call around 7 p.m.

The fire appeared to have started in rear of the house and in the attic. The house was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.

Du Quoin and Dowell fire crews were at the scene of the fire at the two-story home.

The cause is unknown and is under investigation. They are asking anyone with information to call the fire station at 618-542-5600.
