Carbondale, IL man sentenced to 18 years in connection to shooting

MURPSHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - A southern Illinois man will be spending nearly 20 years in prison in connection to a 2017 shooting.

Rahsaan D. Graham, Jr., 22, of Carbondale, Ill. was sentenced on January 10 after being found guilty by a jury, according to the Jackson Co. State’s Attorney’s Office.

His charges include, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon.

He was accused of firing gunshots at a vehicle. A man in a vehicle was shot by Graham on near the intersection of Robert A. Stalls Ave. and driven to the emergency room. Five gunshots were fired. The victim did not cooperate with the investigation.

A witness, the driver of the car, testified that she was approached a number of times by Graham who made gestures with a gun leading up to the trial. He told her that he would give her money to leave the area during the trial.

Carbondale police investigated the case.
