ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - One person is dead following after an officer-involved shooting in the Leadwood area of St. Francois County, Missouri on Tuesday, January 8.
On Tuesday, a MSHP Troop C SWAT Team, Division of Drug and Crime Control Narcotics Unit and Bomb Squad and the Mineral Area Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a home located on Hilltop Drive in the Leadwood area.
The homeowner, Michael W. Mobley, was shot and killed by a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol after he emerged from the residence with a rifle and pointed it at officers.
While searching the basement, where Mobley, Garry W. Triplett, 32, and others lived, officers discovered a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, numerous firearms and marijuana.
Outside the basement door, officers discovered a backpack and found a one-pot methamphetamine laboratory, along with sodium hydroxide and ammonium nitrate.
Four people found in the home were arrested, including Triplett. His last known address was Bismark, Mo.
Triplett is charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possessing and attempting to manufacture meth and of unlawful possession and use of a weapon by a felon.
He was taken to the St. Francois County Jail in Farmington, Mo.
His bond is set at $100,000.
