MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Work has resumed on the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge 30 mile marker at the Livingston-Marshall County line in western Kentucky.
East and westbound traffic have been restricted to one lane for a number of months.
Engineering issues have pushed back the estimated completion date of Nov. 15, 2018.
It will take several weeks to estimate a new completion date, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
There will be overnight closures announced and detour information to allow installation of new bridge joints.
Commuters who travel I-24 daily should consider a self-detour around this work zone via US 62 and KY 453 between I-24 Calvert City Exit 27 and I-24 Grand Rivers-Smithland Exit 31.
