1 dead in 3-vehicle crash in Pulaski County, IL

PULASKI COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A deadly crash involving three vehicles in Pulaski County, Illinois on Sunday, Nov. 18 is under investigation.

The crash happened around 4:21 pm. on the southbound lanes of Interstate 57 at mile-post 6.

According to Illinois State Police, a Buick Encore was broke down and partially in the traveling lane of I-57.

The driver of a Ford truck, James Foster, 41 of Gosport, Indiana, was hauling a fifth-wheel camper trailer and slowed down for the SUV.

ISP says when Foster slowed down his pick-up truck was rear-ended by a semi tractor-trailer driven by Leroy Mitchell, 61 of Detroit, Michigan.

The force of the crash caused the pick-up truck to push into the SUV.

State Police report the driver of the SUV was out of the vehicle at the time of the crash and was killed.

The name of the SUV driver has not been released at this time.

ISP says chargers are pending.
