McCaskill, Hawley debate in St. Louis

McCaskill/Hawley debate on TV

ST. LOUIS, MO (KFVS) - Claire McCaskill and Josh Hawley squared off in an hour-long debate on Thursday night, October 18.

It started at 7 p.m. in front of a live audience.

The debate was hosted by Nine Network Public media, St. Louis Public Radio and KSDK.

"You know, I have traveled the state I love and I listen and, you know, we have a lot of differences. But there are so many things Missourians agree on. Campaigns are a time that we highlight differences, but I think they should also be a time that voters take a hard look at which candidate can do more than criticize their opponent, who can actually find common ground. I’m very proud of what I’ve gotten done in the Senate. Tonight on my website, clairemccaskill.com, you can find 100 accomplishments that I have gotten across the finish line for Missourians. I did that by working across the aisle, listening, and, yes, sometimes compromising. Whether it was veterans benefits or bringing down the cost of prescription drugs, I will work with anyone, any time to make things better. Can I be pushy? Yes. Obnoxious sometimes? Yeah, maybe. But I will roll up my sleeves, be independent and work as hard as I know how for the families of Missouri all day long. I would be honored to have your vote.”
Sen. Claire McCaskill
“After nearly four decades in politics, Claire McCaskill proved that she is a party line liberal. Everyone who watched this debate has to wonder if she will even show up for the final debate next week. Now it makes sense why she didn’t want to join Josh on his debate trailer this summer."
